IATF Certification Body Communiqués (also: referred to as “IATF CB Communiqué” or “CB Communiqué” for short) serve for the IATF in publishing important information especially for IATF-recognized certification bodies. Such information may include but is not limited to e.g. extended and new requirements as well as the introduction of new IT systems to manage the certification scheme, etc.

Although a lot of the content of these IATF CB Communiqués is not relevant for all the IATF stakeholders, it is recommended that also IATF 3rd party auditors and as required, even companies certified to IATF 16949 and their employees make themselves familiar with the contents of these IATF CB Communiqués.

2023-001 Phase 2 of the Auditor Qualification Process
The purpose of this Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, and their auditors, about updates the IATF is making to the Auditor Qualification Process. The IATF previously launched Phase 1 of the Auditor Qualification Process, which includes online ADP prerequisites, the 4-day new auditor training, and the ADP initial assessments, as described in CB Communiqué #2021-010. Phase 2 of this Auditor Qualification Process applies to auditors that successfully completed Phase 1. Auditors are eligible to enter Phase 2 beginning 12 months from achieving the 4-AUD-B designation and must complete their initial attempt of Phase 2 before their 4-AUD-B expiry.
2022-003 Introduction to the AIAG/VDA Harmonized FMEA handbook on the IATF ADP
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, including their auditors and free ticket candidates, about training and quiz materials for the AIAG/VDA harmonized approach to FMEA on the IATF Auditor Development Process (ADP).
2021-012 IATF ADP Pre study requirements for New Auditor Candidates
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, including their auditors and free ticket candidates, about changes in the ADP pre-study requirements for new auditor candidates previously communicated in IATF CB Communique 2020-003.
2021-010 IATF ADP Pre study requirements for New Auditor Candidates
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, and other key stakeholders, about updates the IATF is making to the New Auditor Training and Evaluation Process. This revised process became effective from 1 January 2022.
2021-006 Notice of new IATF OEM Voting Member Geely Group
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, and other stakeholders, that at the IATF 2021 Spring meeting, the IATF unanimously voted to welcome Geely Group into the IATF as an OEM voting member.
2020-007 REV 01 Release of the IATF CARA Project (“Common Audit Report Application”)
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies that the development of the Common Audit Report Application ("IATF CARA") was completed. The final version of IATF CARA was officially released on 01 June 2020.
2020-003 Auditing FMEA and Control Plan & Auditing MSA and SPC on the IATF ADP
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, including their auditors and free ticket candidates, about training and quiz materials for the Auditing FMEA and Control Plan and Auditing MSA and SPC training and quiz modules on the IATF ADP.
2020-002 IATF16949 Auditor Registration Process with CCAA
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise IATF-recognized certification bodies of the updated process to register and renew IATF 16949 auditors with CCAA (as originally defined in CB Communiqué 2017-005). The registration / renewal process will satisfy CNCA’s New Measure requirements and CCAA IATF16949 Auditor Registration Scheme to “put on record” (rather than approve) auditors to conduct IATF 16949 audits in the PRC.
2019-010 Notice of new IATF OEM Voting Member Jaguar Land Rover (JLR)
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, and other stakeholders, that at the IATF Meeting in October 2019, the IATF unanimously voted to welcome Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), as Tata Motors Limited official designate into the IATF as an OEM voting member.
2019-004 Updated IATF New Auditor Training and Evaluation Process
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, and other key stakeholders about updates the IATF is making to the New Auditor Training and Evaluation Process (known as Phase 2). Effective 2nd September 2019, Phase 2 of the New Auditor Training and Evaluation Process was launched globally. The New Auditor Training and Evaluation will become a 5 day event comprising 3.5 days face to face training and 1.5 days evaluation.
2017-011 Assigning additional Supplier Codes to a Client with Extended Manufacturing Site(s)
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies that a new functionality has been released in the IATF database in November 2017 to allow more than one IATF OEM supplier code to be entered in the IATF database for cases where an extended manufacturing site(s) has a separate IATF OEM supplier code from the main manufacturing site.
2017-008 Expiration date extension for active IATF 16949 3rd party Auditors
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies that the IATF has approved to extend credentialed IATF 16949 3rd party auditor expiry dates (including those expiration dates for the “Free Ticket candidates”) to 31 December 2025.
2017-007 Clients not meeting the eligibility for certification to IATF 16949
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies of the required actions to ensure that only clients are certified to IATF 16949 meeting the relevant Rules 5th Section 1.0 Eligibility requirements.
2015-003 REV 01 Revised list of supporting functions for remote locations in the IATF Database
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies of revisions that were made to the list of supporting functions in the IATF Database.
2012-005 Auditor Development Process (ADP) – Payment of Invoices/Annual Fees
The purpose of this IATF CB Communiqué is to advise all IATF-recognized certification bodies, including their auditors that it is critical that CBs manage their auditor ADP invoice payments in a timely manner to prevent auditor deactivation. This includes payment of multiple sponsorship fees, payment of annual fees, and payment of any other associated fees.
