The VDA QMC publishes FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) as well as so-called Sanctioned Interpretations (SIs) on the VDA Standards and at irregular intervals.
FAQs are official answers to questions from certified companies, approved certification bodies of the VDA and other interest groups. Unless otherwise stated, such FAQs are applicable from the date of their publication.
A “frequently asked question” (FAQ) is an explanation/clarification of an existing requirement from either the referenced VDA standard or on the the VDA certification requirements.
A Sanctioned Interpretation (SI) changes the interpretation of a rule or requirement and thus becomes the basis for a nonconformity. Unless otherwise stated, Sanctioned Interpretations (SIs) apply from the date of their respective publication.
