Every company in the automotive supply chain is obliged to ensure the safety and compliance of its products. This includes adhering to the legal regulations of the respective countries and meeting the safety expectations of the general public, as well as other binding obligations. However, diversified markets, product variants and complex supply chains make these requirements difficult to navigate.

These challenges should therefore be addressed not only in relation to individual products, but systematically at organizational level – with a Product Compliance System (PCS). Such a system includes elements for identifying, monitoring, controlling and minimizing product compliance-related risks at company level.

Building on the Product Compliance System, this training covers the practical implementation of the PCS requirements and how to manage identified risks. The training is therefore aimed not only at prospective PSCRs, but also at staff working within the Product Compliance System.

In the training, you will learn how the seven elements of the Product Compliance System enable you, as a prospective or current PSCR, to manage your day-to-day work in a more professional and effective manner.

• You are familiar with the scope of a product compliance system and its components from both a governance and an operational perspective.
• You will understand the significance and responsibilities of the PSCR and other roles within the Product Compliance System.
• You will gain an understanding of regulatory requirements regarding product compliance through practical examples.
• You will understand your responsibilities throughout the entire supply chain, from development to manufacturing and application, right up to the end of the product’s intended use.
• You are familiar with methods for determining safety objectives and conducting risk assessments, and you know what to do in the event of product non-conformities.
• You will be aware of your part as a role model in fostering a positive product compliance culture and will be able to act as a champion for it within your organization.

The training alternates between lectures and group work. The focus is on using simple practical examples to explore how the components of a Product Compliance System are applied in practice.

The training is aimed at managers and staff in the automotive industry who are due to be appointed as PSCRs or who already hold this role. It is also aimed at employees who deal with product- or technology-related compliance issues throughout the product lifecycle, or who are currently designing a product compliance system or intend to do so in the future.

• Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements management or quality management
• Training and experience in the assessment of technical product and process risks (e.g.
  FMEA facilitator, VDA 6.3 process auditor, developer)
• Basic knowledge of product liability

After passing the knowledge test (Single-Choice-Test), you will receive a certificate of qualification.
